An argument outside a Kenmore house led to a delivery man being struck with an errant gunshot.
The victim, 24, was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. The shooter, Jonathan Wilt, 20, is wanted by Akron police on three counts of felonious assault.
The shooting took place about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of 5th Street SW where a couple was moving into a house.
Outside the house, the new resident argued with Wilt before the suspect left momentarily and returned with two handguns, police said. He then fired several shots at the resident, who was standing in the front yard, police said.
The shots missed the resident, but one bullet traveled inside the home, through a wall and into the appliance delivery man’s leg. Wilt then fled.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Wilt is asked to contact the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490; the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-866-4 WANTED; or the Summit County Crimestoppers Inc. at 330–434–COPS.
