The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office and Akron police are investigating a double traffic fatality that occurred at 7:45 p.m. Monday on Interstate 76 near Grant Street.
A tractor-trailer was traveling east on I-76 when the driver failed to notice slowing traffic, authorities said. The driver attempted to swerve around another tractor-trailer but hit the rear end of the truck.
The driver, 40, and his passenger, 13, were both pronounced dead at the scene at 8:28 p.m.
