CUYAHOGA FALLS: An arrest warrant has been issued for the son of Cuyahoga Falls Mayor-elect Don Walters.

Nicholas A. Walters, 19, of 10th Street, is charged with trafficking marijuana, a fourth-degree felony.

Municipal court records indicate the alleged sale took place Oct. 10. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office issued the warrant Thursday.

According to his father, Nicholas Walters lives with his mother.

“I have contacted her, and we are trying to get more information from the authorities,” Don Walters said Friday.

He said he expects that his son will cooperate with authorities.

In his recent successful mayoral campaign to unseat longtime Republican Mayor Don Robart, Walters was very vocal about ridding the city of illegal drugs and other crimes.

“My position is the same on drugs and crime regardless of who may be involved,” Don Walters said Friday.
