Cedar Point announces new haunted haunts for HalloWeekends

By Craig Webb Published: August 7, 2014

Work is already underway behind the scenes to transform Cedar Point into a haunted haunt for its HalloWeekends.

This year’s frightful weekends will feature several new attractions, live shows and kid-friendly haunts.

The park’s major addition will be Hexed — a haunted house attraction that will be full of witches "whose minions (and spells) have gone horribly awry."

The park is also offering up the Tombstone Terror-tory — a ghost-town themed area.

Other new attractions include a new path and surprises in the Monster Midway Invasion Celebration parade. There will also be a band of roving buccaneers.

The park will also host live performances by Halloween music makers the Midnight Syndicate.

For kids, the park is expanding its Howl-O-Palooza area that will feature a new cornstalk maze, mask-making station, pony rides and other attractions.

HalloWeekends is held Friday nights, Saturdays and Sundays from Sept. 12 to Nov. 1.
