Chinese food delivery driver robbed at knife point

Beacon Journal staff report

A Stow man trying to deliver Chinese food in southeast Akron was robbed Saturday night, police said.

The attacker used a large bread knife.

The driver for Juyuan Kitchen on South Arlington Street was sent to an Anderson Avenue apartment about 8:15 p.m. As he was outside looking for the correct residence, the 44-year-old driver said a man with a red bandana covering his face and a knife in his hand approached and demanded keys and money.

The robber took the Chinese food order as well as $115 and ran off, police said.

The driver was not injured.

The robber is described as a white man in his late 50s or early 60s with blue eyes and gray hair. He wore a dark hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Akron police at 330-375-2490. Anonymous tips may be left at http://akronohio.gov/asp/tip.html.
