Longtime Cleveland sports personality and talk show host Tony Rizzo was arrested Friday night on a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence, according to Medina Municipal Court records.
Television station WJW cites a Medina police report that recounts a 911 call reportedly made by Rizzo’s wife.
The report indicates she told the dispatcher, “My husband is hurting me, and he’s very irate and I’m really scared.”
When asked if her husband was drunk, Rizzo’s wife reportedly said, “Yes, we’ve been drinking.”
WJW reported that Rizzo sent a text message to the station’s Fox 8 News staff in which he declined comment on his arrest and the domestic violence allegations.
His lawyer on Monday filed a not guilty plea to one count of domestic violence on his behalf.
Rizzo is the host of The Really Big Show on WKNR radio, and hosts The Rizzo Show, which airs each Sunday on WJW.
