A Cuyahoga Falls man was sentenced Monday to life in prison after pleading guilty to raping a young girl.
Richard Frederick Jr., 25, was scheduled for trial Monday in Summit County Common Pleas Court.
He withdrew his trial request and instead pleaded guilty to one count each of rape and gross sexual imposition.
Frederick was indicted in June on charges alleging sexual misconduct with a 5-year-old girl. The offenses took place between January and May of this year.
Judge Mary Margaret Rowlands sentenced Frederick to a mandatory life sentence.
He will be eligible for parole in 2037.
