ALLIANCE: Police used warrants in a drug sweep Tuesday that netted 40 people, most of whom were charged with drug trafficking.

The warrant sweep came following the completion of several separate drug investigations.

All of those arrested are Alliance residents, with the exception of a Louisville resident and a homeless man.

The sweep began at 12:30 p.m., according to a news release from the department.

All those arrested were booked at Alliance City Jail, transferred to the Stark County Jail and will be arraigned Wednesday in Alliance Municipal Court.

Police were assisted in the sweep by Ohio Department of Parole officers.
