RAVENNA: Portage County Sheriff David Doak said deputies Friday night arrested a man wanted in the slaying of an Alliance man.
Doak wouldn’t reveal many details about the case, saying the victim’s next of kin was being sought in southern Ohio.
An autopsy of the unnamed victim, who had been reported missing, is scheduled for today, Doak said.
The victim was found Friday in a Franklin Township apartment, but Doak said he could not say when the man was killed or the circumstances of his death.
On Friday afternoon, the sheriff asked the public for help in locating John R. Fox, 34, with a last known address in Franklin Township.
At 6:30 p.m. Friday, deputies took Fox into custody in Ravenna Township.
Doak said he couldn’t describe the capture or whether the public aided in the apprehension.
