The same Turkish group that hacked the city of Akron’s website earlier this year is claiming it attacked portions of a site Wichita, Kan., operates.
Cyber Wars News describes the attack as similar to Akron’s — only a portion was exposed, but sensitive data was posted on the Internet.
Wichita television station KWCH said the attackers bragged about previous attacks in Akron, Lansing, Mich., and Mobile, Ala.
The Wichita Eagle newspaper said the attack occurred Saturday but city officials did not notice it until Monday.
The FBI is helping with the investigation, as it has in Akron.
No charges have been filed in the Akron incident. The city has since revamped its entire website.
