A Summit County court hearing scheduled for Thursday for one of the suspects in the Craigslist shootings that left three men dead and another wounded has been postponed until next month, authorities said.
Richard J. Beasley, 52, is being held without bond at the Summit County Jail. He is charged with multiple felonies involving aggravated trafficking in drugs, compelling prostitution and promoting prostitution in a case unrelated to the shootings.
He is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Jan. 19 for a pretrial hearing before Common Pleas Judge Tammy O’Brien on those charges.
Prosecutors believe Beasley hatched the scheme that lured men looking for work to a rural site in Noble County. Two bodies were found buried there. Another man survived a gunshot wound. The body of an Akron man was found buried near the former Rolling Acres Mall.
Formal charges against Beasley in connection with those shootings have not been filed.
