Icy conditions Monday morning caused dozens of accidents in the Akron area.
No major injuries were reported.
A dispatcher for the State Highway Patrol said 12 accidents were reported after 6 a.m. in Summit and Stark counties. A patrol spokesman in Medina reported another dozen accidents with only minor injuries.
Norton police closed westbound Interstate 76 at state Route 21 in Norton between 7 and 8 a.m. because of four accidents involving five vehicles. Only minor injuries were reported.
Akron police reported nine accidents in a little less than two hours. Traffic was slowed on Interstate 77 near White Pond Drive and state Route 8 north of Perkins Street in Akron.
Area authorities said the accidents eased around 9 a.m., after road crews finished applying salt.

The forecast calls for a windy, cloudy day today with some flurries. Temperatures are predicted to remain in the 30s through Friday.
