Authorities are still investigating the death Friday of a 37-year-old woman who was hit by a passing train and killed near downtown Akron.
The victim has been identified as Jamie Styles-Woods, who investigators say was living most recently at the Haven of Rest shelter on East Market Street in Akron.
Police are unsure how or why Styles-Woods ended up on the CSX tracks near the intersection of Broadway and East Exchange Street, just west of the Metro bus station.
The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office is still awaiting test results before determining a cause and manner of death. Foul play is not suspected.
