Infant killed in central Ohio crash

CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO: Authorities say the victim of a single-car rollover accident in central Ohio was a 1-year-old girl.

The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office said A’laija King was killed Thursday morning near Circleville, south of Columbus, when her grandmother’s SUV struck a guardrail and rolled several times.

The grandmother, 37-year-old Deanna King of Columbus, and her daughters, ages 12 and 18, were taken to a hospital for treatment. The infant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies were investigating whether the child was restrained in a safety seat. The cause of the accident also is under investigation.
