Kent State football coach Paul Haynes was happy to get back to Mid-American Conference play after a brutal two-week stretch against Louisiana State and Penn State.

The Golden Flashes enjoyed a 32-14 win over the Broncos on the road.

Kent State (2-3, 1-1 MAC) got star running back Dri Archer back from a left ankle sprain Saturday, but it was bruiser Trayion Durham who first put the Golden Flashes up 7-0 late in the first quarter with a 5-yard touchdown run.

After Western Michigan (0-5, 0-1) tied the game 7-7, it was Archer who gave KSU a second lead on a 31-yard touchdown pass late in the second quarter.

The Broncos brought the score to 15-14 in the third quarter on a long 88-yard drive.

Durham then added his second touchdown on the night, this one from the 1-yard line, to put KSU up 22-14. The Flashes never looked back.
