LeBron to be honored at Aeros game

Plusquellic to honor LeBron
at Aeros game this afternoon

Mayor Don Plusquellic is scheduled today to honor Akron’s famous son, LeBron James, a St. Vincent-St. Mary graduate who this year won an Olympic gold medal, a third NBA MVP title and his first league championship as a member of the Miami Heat.

The mayor’s tribute is set to take place at Canal Park between the eighth and ninth innings of the Aeros’ game, which starts at 1:05 p.m.

After the game, James will meet with about 500 kids and their families to kick off the new school year for the James Family Foundation’s Wheels for Education program, which targets third-graders to help ensure success in school.
