A Youngstown man is accused of raping his girlfriend and holding her captive for more than 12 hours inside her Akron home.
Maurice Moore, 38, was being held in the Summit County Jail on charges of rape, assault, unlawful restraint and criminal damaging.
He was arrested Saturday at the Grant Street home of a 35-year-old woman who told police Moore broke into her bedroom about 9 a.m. Friday and refused to leave or allow her to leave.
She told police she was punched and choked, and during a 15-hour time span was forced to have sexual intercourse. She was treated for injuries at Summa St. Thomas Hospital on Saturday.
A report described Moore and the woman as being involved in a relationship.
Police were called to the house about 1 p.m. Saturday. They said Moore ran out a back door and was arrested after a foot chase that covered about a mile.
