LAKE TWP.: Officers responding to a one-vehicle crash early New Year’s Day suspected a 20 year-old Lake Township man was driving under the influence and said he also had a large amount of cash and a stash of drugs in the vehicle.
Ewell K.T. Martin IV, also known as Tyler Martin, 20, of Smith Kramer Street, was arrested on various drug and firearms charges after officers, who responded to the 3:24 a.m. crash at King Church Avenue and Meandering Creek Street, discovered $600 in cash and more than 14 grams of cocaine in the vehicle.
After further investigation, authorities confiscated more than nine pounds of marijuana, an additional $14,000 in cash, miscellaneous drug instruments and a loaded .25 caliber pistol with the serial number removed.
Martin, of Lake Township, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, trafficking in marijuana, trafficking in cocaine, OVI, underage consumption, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug instruments, weapons under disability and possession of a defaced firearm.
Police indicate additional charges and arrests are possible, pending the completion of their investigation.
