Man charged after crashing car near Cuyahoga River

Beacon Journal staff report

A Cuyahoga Falls man has been charged with drunken driving in connection with a one-vehicle crash Saturday evening near the Cuyahoga River.

Bradley Zaryki, 45, was charged with OVI, failure to control and failure to stop after a crash, Akron police said Monday.

The crash happened about 7 p.m. near the intersection of East Cuyahoga Falls Avenue and Front Street.

Police say Zaryki was driving a 1999 Toyota RAV4 northbound on Front Street when he swerved off the right side of the roadway and drove through a guardrail just south of the banks of the Cuyahoga River.

He then fled on foot, police said, and was found hiding in a large drainage ditch.
