Man killed in early morning crash on I-77

GREEN: A 44-year-old Akron man was killed in a traffic accident early Friday morning when his car flipped over on northbound Interstate 77.

Three occupants in the car were taken to Akron City Hospital, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Stacey Juniel died after losing control of the Buick Park Avenue he was driving at the 116 mile marker at about 12:55 a.m.

All four passengers were ejected from the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

Juniel was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:45 a.m.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

The sheriff’s office and the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the accident.
