Police say an Alliance man fatally shot his ex-wife before turning the gun on himself in a hospital parking lot.
Alliance police said Lee Toalston, 31, called 911 Sunday night and reported killing his ex-wife, Holly Toalston, 28. He also told police his name and location and his intention to kill himself.
As police arrived, Toalston shot himself in a parking lot near Alliance Community Hospital. He was taken to Summa Akron City Hospital by medical helicopter. He is being treated for a gunshot wound to the head.
Alliance police Lt. John Jenkins said in a news release Monday that it appears Toalston shot his former wife outside her Burt Avenue home. He then carried her body to a parking lot at Burt and College Street, where he fired several more shots into her body. He then made his call to police.
Police said Holly Toalston’s body was wrapped in blankets and left next to a trash container in the hospital parking lot.
The couple recently had divorced.
