A Mansfield man faces a rape charge in a case involving a 12-year-old Springfield Township girl.
Corey A. Welch, 48, is being held in the Summit County Jail.
According to a police report, officers responded to a 911 call from the girl at her home Nov. 28. She said she woke up naked and felt as though she had been drugged.
The girl said Welch might have taken pictures of the assault with his cell phone. She described him as a family friend who was staying with them.
Detectives said they found evidence that corroborated her claims.
Welch could face additional charges.
