MASSILLON: Mourners will gather in Stark County to remember one of the victims of what authorities say was a death trap set through a Craigslist job ad.
A memorial service for 47-year-old Timothy Kern is scheduled for Tuesday evening at a funeral home in the Massillon area, where he lived. The 6:30 p.m. ceremony will follow an hour of visitation.
Kern’s body was found Nov. 29 in a shallow grave near the Rolling Acres shopping mall. Authorities say he interviewed for a bogus farm job in Southeast Ohio advertised on Craigslist and was last seen Nov. 13.
Two other deaths and the wounding of a fourth man are part of the investigation. Authorities have identified as suspects Richard Beasley, 52, of Akron, and Brogan Rafferty, 16, of Stow.
