COLUMBUS: Authorities in central Ohio say a 72-year-old woman who went missing earlier this week has been found dead in a river.
Columbus police say Bessie Smith was living at a YWCA when she was last seen Tuesday. Her body was found in the Scioto River on Wednesday morning. The Columbus Dispatch reports that someone spotted the body near a park trial.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine how she died. Police do not suspect foul play.
