More than 200 pot plants recovered in Portage County

Portage County Drug Task Force Agents with help from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation recovered more than 200 marijuana plants from various points of the county.

The collected marijuana had a street value of more than $200,000, Sheriff David Doak said in a press release Thursday. The search took place on Monday. Details were not provided.

The task force is comprised of members from the Portage County sheriff’s and prosecutor’s offices, police from Aurora, Kent, Ravenna, Streetsboro, Garrettsville and Hiram and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Department of Homeland Security.
