More than $25,000 in merchandise was taken during a burglary discovered Monday at an Akron jewelry store, police said.
Employees of Taylor Made Jewelry, 2492 Wedgewood Drive, told police they arrived at the store about 8:30 a.m. Monday and found a door lock had been picked open and several glass display cases inside the showroom were smashed.
According to a report, workers were performing an inventory to determine exactly how much jewelry was taken during the break-in, which took place sometime after closing on Saturday. A worker told police the value of the stolen items was at least $25,000. Most of the merchandise was Accutron and Bulova watches, police said.
