Beacon Journal staff report
A motorist opened fire on another driver while stopped near the busy intersection of Ridgewood and Miller roads Monday afternoon in Fairlawn.
Police, however, have yet to learn the identity of either driver because both immediately drove away, police said.
Sgt. Randy Bartlett said witnesses saw the gunman exit his silver colored car at about 3 p.m. and approach the black car stopped for a traffic light on southbound Miller Road. The man then fired four shots from a handgun into the vehicle
The victim quickly turned west on Ridgewood and drove away while the shooter fled in an unknown direction, witnesses told police.
Bartlett said investigators are unsure if the victim was struck by any of the shots. The unknown driver targeted by the gunman had not yet sought medical treatment nor reported the shooting.
There were no reports of bystanders being injured.
