Munroe Falls man, 92, confronts burglar

Beacon Journal staff report

A 92-year-old Munroe Falls man confronted a burglar who apparently tried to steal a ceremonial sword.

Police arrested Taune Wright, 21, of Kent, immediately after the victim called 911 on Tuesday. Wright is being held in the Summit County Jail on a charge of burglary.

The victim told police that he was sitting at a dinning room table when he saw Wright walking around his apartment. After confronting the suspect, the stranger fled and the victim followed.

The suspect was found in a laundry room acting as if he was washing clothes, police said. Officers responding found Wright in the laundry area and the sword that was stashed in a trash can.

Additional property from the victim was also recovered from the laundry area, police said.
