No foul play in Christmas death of Ohio infant

Associated Press

WARREN, OHIO: A county coroner in northeast Ohio says preliminary findings show no indication of foul play in the death of a 2-month-old baby found unresponsive in his crib on Christmas morning.

The Youngstown Vindicator reports that Trumbull County Coroner Dr. Humphrey Germaniuk has not yet ruled on the cause of death of Delshawn Porterfield. That will require further testing and take about two months.

The boy’s 23-year-old mother told authorities she put the boy in his crib at 10 p.m. Monday and checked on him several times during the night. She found him unresponsive at about 10:44 a.m. Tuesday.
