DAYTON, OHIO: Police in Dayton said an 8-year-old girl was hospitalized after being shot in the leg during a dispute between two groups of people on the street.
The Dayton Daily News reports that it happened Sunday night.
Police Lt. Wendy Stiver said a group of people walking on the street began arguing with another group sitting on a porch. Someone in the group on the street pulled a gun and fired five shots at the house.
Police don’t believe the girl was the intended target. One person was taken into custody and charged with felonious assault. The girl’s father also was arrested for acting erratically.
