Ohio man killed in officer-involved shooting

COLUMBUS: Police say a man was fatally shot by officers outside a Columbus dance club.

Columbus police said 22-year-old Jonathan D. Rodgers was killed at about 2 a.m. by two officers who had been working special duty at the Charlie Bear nightclub.

Witnesses told police that Rodgers was involved in a fight in the club went to his car to get a gun and fired at another man who had come out of the bar.

The officers confronted Rodgers and fired at him several times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still looking for the other man.

The club is near Ohio State University, but it wasn’t known if any of those involved were connected to the university.
