Associated Press

ZANESVILLE, OHIO: Authorities say a motorcyclist was killed when he hit a deer in eastern Ohio over the weekend.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said 38-year-old Ryan P. Longstreth was dead at the scene of the crash on U.S. 40 in Zanesville on Saturday evening.

The patrol said Longstreth was riding west a black 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he struck a deer crossing the road at about 6:15 p.m. Saturday. Longstreth was thrown off.

The motorcycle went into the eastbound lane and struck a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The driver of the truck wasn’t injured.

Longstreth, of Newark, wasn’t wearing a helmet.
