COLUMBUS: State health officials say a lawsuit that had blocked Ohio from moving forward with certain Medicaid contracts has been dismissed.
The director of the Governor’s Office of Health Transformation said Thursday that a central Ohio judge has dismissed the case and the state can now proceed with the contract process.
Aetna Better Health of Ohio had sued the state in a dispute over the scoring of contract applications. The company had tentatively been awarded a new Medicaid contract. But a state review of the applications changed the points and meant the contract wouldn’t go to the company.
Aetna had wanted its contract reinstated and had asked a Franklin County Common Pleas judge to stop the contract process while the matter was resolved.
A message seeking comment was left with Aetna.
