Ohio Statehouse adds museum exhibits on veterans

Associated Press

COLUMBUS: State officials have dedicated two new tributes to veterans that are now on display at Ohio’s Statehouse.

Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor and Ohio Department of Veterans Services Director Col. Thomas Moe dedicated the permanent exhibits at the Ohio Statehouse Museum in Columbus on Monday.

One display includes an informational panel about the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame and a slideshow featuring photos and information about some of the hall’s inductees. Those include actor Paul Newman and astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon.

The Hall of Fame established in 1992 honors 443 Ohioans who served in the military and then continued their service to others.

The other exhibit is dedicated to women veterans and features photos and brief sketches of Ohio’s military women throughout history.
