A 24-year-old Lucille Street man was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of a defaced firearm after a traffic stop.
A Manchester Road man, 27, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, weapons under disability and trafficking in Oxycodone. The man was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle when police approached.
A Neville Avenue man, 41, was charged with felonious assault, robbery, kidnapping and tampering with evidence. Police said he and several other men jumped the victim, punched and kicked the victim before taking the victim’s cellphone and money.
A 27-year-old Sunnybrook Road, Portage County man was charged with tampering with evidence and resisting arrest after he was observed driving at speeds exceeding 100 mph. He was stopped at Interstate 76 eastbound at Gilchrist Road, and he was observed biting off the end of a plastic bag. Officers used a stun gun to remove the uncooperative man from the car. After he was advised of his rights, he admitted that he had eaten methadone and marijuana.
A LaCroix Street man, 56, was charged with violation of a protection order after he was found at his residence, where he is forbidden.
A 19-year-old Martha Avenue man was charged with receiving stolen property and obstructing official business. When police tried to pull him over after observing him driving on North Main Street in a vehicle that had been reported stolen, the man jumped out and was arrested after a foot chase.
A 25-year-old North Adams Street man was charged with possession of a dangerous ordinance and discharging a firearm within the city limits. Officers responded to a call for shots fired and located the man and a 28-year-old who was also charged in the incident. After officers found them, they noticed several weapons, including a sawed-off shotgun, on the ground near the men.
An East Avenue man, 25, was charged with illegal manufacturing of meth, illegal assembly of chemicals, possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said officers responded to the house for a possible meth lab and were given written/verbal consent to search the residence and recovered items commonly used to manufacture meth.
A 46-year-old South Princeton Road, Berlin Center man was charged with two counts of passing bad checks. Police said he used one to purchase restaurant equipment.
A Whitney Avenue man, 32, was charged with domestic violence and disrupting public service. Police said he broke down his girlfriend’s door, entered and assaulted her several times. He then grabbed her phone and slammed it down so she could not call for help.
A 37-year-old Kingsley Avenue woman was charged with deception to obtain and illegal processing of a drug document. Police said the woman attempted to pick up a prescription phoned into a pharmacy illegally.
An Inamn Street man, 42, was charged with weapons under disability, carrying a concealed weapon, aggravated menacing and criminal damaging. The man was involved in a verbal argument with his neighbors over them removing siding off of their house. Police said during the argument, the man pointed a pistol at the neighbors and threatened them and hid the gun before officers arrived. He has a prior felony conviction.
A homeless man, 30, was charged with theft, theft of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. Police said he took a vehicle from VanDevere Kia on West Market Street. He later was observed in Glendale Cemetery walking away from the car.
A 26-year-old Kenmore Boulevard man was charged with intimidation and violation of a temporary protection order. Police said he sent another person, a 27-year-old Kenmore Boulevard woman who was also charged, to the victim’s address on Harrison Avenue to speak with the victim about a domestic violence case.
A Crosby Street man, 20, was charged with gross sexual imposition. Police said he engaged in sexual contact with a 13-year-old girl.
An East Tuscarawas Avenue man, 34, was jailed on a charge of receiving stolen property May 30 after he allegedly tried to cash a money order by forging it at the Save-A-Lot store in Barberton.
A Brady Avenue man, 40, surrendered to police and was jailed on a felony charge of intimidation of a witness June 3 after a warrant was issued.
A homeless man, 40, was being sought on a domestic violence warrant following a June 3 incident at a Highland Avenue home. He was accused of pouring a drink on the victim’s head and then ramming her head into a concrete wall. He also was accused of kicking her in the ribs.

Two teens were arrested on theft charges June 12. The Akron residents, 12 and 13, were caught trying to steal a pair of shorts from Dillard’s, police said.
The head of Target security caught a shoplifter trying to steal $296.88 in merchandise, according to a police report. The suspect, 25, stole a collection of DVDs and CDs and hid some in the pocket of his cargo pants, police said. Responding officers apprehended him while he was trying to escape. He has been banned from Target indefinitely.

A 44-year-old Bachtel Avenue, Akron woman surrendered to police June 6 to face a forgery warrant and admitted her role. The suspect was accused of passing two counterfeit $50 bills on April 28 at Kohl’s and identified May 3 when another $50 bill was passed.
A Lake Road 15-year-old and a Swinehart Road 15-year-old were booked into the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center after being caught June 3 on Delaware Avenue at Crestline Drive and accused of breaking mailboxes. Both were charged with aggravated menacing, criminal damaging and obstructing official business.
Three teens were charged with breaking and entering at Spring Hill Junior High School on May 31 after police saw a girl, 15, of Lessig Avenue, a boy, 16, of Michaels Drive and a 17-year-old Massillon Road youth at the rear of the school as police responded to an alarm. Three laptop computers and a drill, total value $1,700, were found in the grass nearby. All were booked at the Summit Juvenile Detention Center.
