Akron police said a 64-year-old man said he blacked out before he crashed his car Monday morning.
Police said the man’s vehicle hit a street sign, utility pole and then struck a car parked at the Fuel America gas station parking lot at Lovers Lane at Merton Avenue.
The car’s driver, Matthew Hayes Jr., was taken to Akron City Hospital, police said. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
He was cited for failure to control.
