Police say they found meth, cash in shooting victim’s coat

Akron police confiscated cash and methamphetamine from a man who was being treated Saturday in an Akron emergency room for a gunshot wound.

The man, 22, was shot once in the left arm while driving Saturday afternoon on Manchester Road near Clearview Avenue. After the shooting, he drove himself to Summa Akron City Hospital, where he was treated for the nonlife-threatening injury.

Akron police were called to the hospital and learned from Summa police that a small amount of meth and $820 were found concealed in the man’s clothing.

The shooting victim has not been charged with any crime.

The shooter has not been identified.
