Police: Teen warned neighbor over Christmas lights

Associated Press

ELYRIA, OHIO: Police in Northeast Ohio have charged a 15-year-old girl after an angry letter was left in a mailbox ordering that a neighbor take down the Christmas lights on the house.

Police in Elyria, west of Cleveland, said the girl was charged with disorderly conduct after the neighbor told officers she was threatened by the letter allegedly written and left by the teen.

The Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports the letter notes that the holidays were long over and demanding that the neighbor “take your damn Christmas lights down.” It also said, “don’t make me tell you again.”

Police Capt. Chris Costantino told the newspaper that the teen “thought it was going to be funny, but after she saw it on the news, she realized it was not so funny.”
