WASHINGTON: U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci, R-Wadsworth, has been appointed to the House Budget Committee.
The main requirement of the committee: draft an annual budget resolution that establishes the country’s expenses, revenue, surpluses or deficits and public debt.
U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin serves as chairman.
“It is an honor to be appointed to one of the most influential committees in Congress,” Renacci said in a news release. “Chairman Ryan is a master of the budget process and an innovative leader in the significant challenges we face in fixing America’s broken finances.
“As a businessman, I look forward to learning more about how the House develops its budget and to offering common-sense solutions from the private sector,” he said.
