Reward offered in death of Ohio woman found in trunk of car

Associated Press

MONROE, OHIO: Authorities in Southwest Ohio say there’s a $10,000 reward for information that helps solve the slaying of a woman found dead in the trunk of her car.

Police announced the reward Wednesday in Monroe, about 25 miles north of Cincinnati. Media outlets report police hope the reward brings information that could lead to an arrest and conviction in the slaying of 87-year-old Barbara Howe, of Monroe.

Monroe police say Middletown police found Howe’s car Nov. 1 at an apartment complex a few miles from the retirement village where she lived.

The Butler County Coroner’s Office ruled the death a homicide but has not released the cause.

Police say retirement village officials put up $5,000 of the reward. Howe’s 1943 Hamilton High School class pledged the other half.
