Summit County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 26-year-old Green man Tuesday on charges he held up a FirstMerit Bank in Coventry Township.

Darrell Connell was apprehended after deputies said they attempted a traffic stop on Arlington Street near Archwood Avenue.

The deputies said Connell drove off, crashed his car, ran away and attempted to carjack another vehicle before the deputies caught up to him.

The robbery was reported at 9:08 a.m. when a suspect entered the bank, at 1411 S. Arlington St., said he had a gun and demanded money.

The robber got an undisclosed amount of money and got into a car, where a dye pack exploded on him.
