CHATHAM TWP: The Medina Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-car crash Saturday on state Route 83 at the intersection of state Route 162 that hospitalized two people.
One driver had to be transported by helicopter to a Cleveland hospital.
According to the patrol, 24-year-old Jeffery Young of Medina was westbound on Route 162 about 8 p.m. when he failed to yield the right-of-way while entering the intersection and struck a vehicle northbound on Route 83.
The struck vehicle went off the left side of the road and hit a utility pole and overturned.
The driver, a 41-year-old woman from Cleveland, was transported to Cleveland Metro Health Medical Center and was listed in serious condition.
Young was transported to Lodi Community Hospital.
