A Stow man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for two bank robberies this past summer, authorities said.
Ralphel Antonio Penn, 25, of Cox Drive, pleaded guilty last week to one count of aggravated robbery and one count of robbery in Summit County Common Pleas Court.
Prosecutors said Penn robbed the Charter One bank in Northfield Village on Aug. 6 and another bank in Akron on Aug. 17.
In both holdups, Penn gave the teller a note threatening a mass shooting if the teller did not give him money, prosecutors said.
He was sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer.
