Beacon Journal staff report
With an eye at the sky, the cities of Streetsboro and Alliance decided to postpone Thursday evening’s scheduled trick-or-treat activities.
The new time in Streetsboro will be 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
“The decision was made wholly with the safety of our children in mind,” Streetsboro Mayor Glenn M. Broska said in a news release. “The weather forecast for this evening is for heavy rain and wind. Exposing our children to the chance of severe weather and reduced visibility was not an option.”
Broska said the forecast for Sunday “looks promising, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the upper 40s.”
Alliance moved its trick-or-treat time to 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, according to the city’s website.
