Akron police have arrested a teenager wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a woman at a Kenmore ATM.
Derek Love, 17, was being held in the Summit County Jail on charges of aggravated robbery, carrying a conceal weapon and illegal weapon possession.
He was arrested Monday, about a week after Akron police circulated a video of the robbery to the media and social media websites. Police say he had a .25-caliber pistol inside his pants pocket at the time of his arrest.
Love is accused of taking part in the May 15 robbery of a 23-year-old woman who was standing at an ATM outside a FirstMerit Bank branch at 1060 Kenmore Blvd. The woman, a Cuyahoga Falls resident, told police she was approached by several men, one of whom was armed with a gun. She was robbed of $20, a pack of cigarettes and her car keys.
