Suspect charged in fatal Medina billiards game stabbing

Beacon Journal staff report

A York Township man is accused of stabbing to death another man following an argument that broke out during a billiards game in Medina.

Aaron Furin, 30, is charged with murder in connection with the death of James Daryl Carney, 37.

Police say the men were together with others Wednesday night around 10 p.m. playing pool inside a garage in the 300 block of Longview Drive.

Police say an argument and physical altercation ensued between the men and ended with Furin retrieving a hunting knife and stabbing Carney.

An injured Carney then drove off and crashed his car into a nearby house, police said. He was taken by medical helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where he died.

Furin was being held in the Medina County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
