Beacon Journal staff report

GREEN: A 16-year-old boy was charged with aggravated arson Thursday after a fire at a multi-unit residence at 1952 Koons Road, authorities said.

The Summit County Sheriff’s Office and Green Fire Department responded at 6:50 p.m. Thursday to the fire, which started in a garage.

One unit of the dwelling was damaged, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators determined the fire was deliberately set and an accelerant was used.

The boy, who was located nearby, is being held at the county Juvenile Detention Center.
