Police and school officials are investigating a potential bomb threat found Monday in a boy’s bathroom stall at Stow-Munroe Falls High School.
School administrators and the school resource officer were alerted late Monday afternoon about graffiti with the word “bomb” followed by the date “5-7-14” in the stall, according to recorded phone message from principal Chris DeMauro to parents.
DeMauro said the district is working with Stow and Munroe Falls police on several precautionary measures, including a police presence at the school overnight and throughout the day Tuesday and Wednesday.
Additional sweeps of the school also are planned prior to the start of the school days.
“Our goal at this time is to balance the difficult task of not overreacting with the diligence necessary to keep our students safe,” DeMauro said in the recording.
School officials are working with police to pursue information about the person responsible for the threat, he said.
