Beacon Journal staff report
A Twinsburg Fire Department captain has been picked to lead the department.
Capt. Tim Morgan, who has been with the department since 1991, has been selected the successor to former Chief Richard Racine, who retired Jan. 3.
“I am honored not only to serve the great community of Twinsburg, but to lead such a well-respected fire department,” Morgan said in a prepared statement. “This department is known for its great level of service, and my focus will be to continue to that tradition and constantly look for ways to improve and enhance that service.”
Morgan, 46, rose through the department ranks over this career, first as a part-time firefighter, then to lieutenant in 1997 and later to captain in 2003. He and his wife, Maren, have three children.
“I am pleased that Captain Tim Morgan will be the next fire chief of Twinsburg,” Mayor Katherine Procop said. “He has proven so many times over the years that he is capable and qualified to lead the department. I look forward to working with him and continuing the excellent tradition of our safety forces.”
