Trio sentenced for fatal robbery

Beacon Journal staff report

Three Akron men involved in the shooting death of 24-year-old Phillip Michael Anderson are going to prison.

Summit County Common Pleas Judge Alison McCarty sentenced the trio Friday.

Rahsheem Carr, 21, of Seiberling Street received 43 years to life for aggravated murder and aggravated robbery.

Robert Davis, 21, of Princeton Street received 15 years to life for murder.

And Demarcus Williams, 21, of Tandy Lane received 10 years for involuntary manslaughter.

On Aug. 20, a jury had found Carr guilty of shooting Anderson, while Davis was found guilty of helping to plan the robbery and for driving Williams from the scene of the shooting.

On June 11, Williams pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and aggravated robbery, and later testified against Carr and Davis at their trial.

Anderson, of Akron, was robbed and shot to death Jan. 10 on Princeton Street.
